End-user Forum text editing tool bar

I think it would be really useful if you could enable extra functionality to the end-user forum editing toolbar, they are currently very limited unlike many forum systems out there.

As an example the agent is able to insert images into a forum post, whereas the end user cannot. This stops end-users for example creating a helpful post annotated with images.

+1 on this.  Would be good to have an option to provide crippled or full tiny_mce functionality for end users.

Thanks!

Hi Adrian, Nathan,

Thanks for your feedback.  Just wondering, what kind of tool bars are you referring to? We currently do allow end-users to do basic font editing as well as insert attachments and such.  Is there something you guys are looking at in particular?

Feel free to let us know, or give us examples :)

Thanks

I see no button to include attachments - users on our forum are requesting the ability to upload images so they can show off their in-game space. Am I missing something?

@Danny: Looks like an error, we're looking into it.

Thanks, Jake - I think I'm having a lot of trouble with the forum as comments don't behave the same way as original posts - with comments there's no editing feature, no place to include attachments, no way to delete, etc... I apologize for assuming something is broken without doing all the research.

(I have put in feature requests for the above, with the exception of attachments.)

Is it possible to have some kind of toolbar as outlook does so we can play with the comments. highlight some text, bold, bullets, format printer. I did see that tiny toolbar as you explained above in here when I am writing a comment but I don't see on our Zendesk support.

Is there any setting to enable it?

@Hitesh: You're not seeing this in your own forums, on your own account?

Hello,

I need the same text editor toolbar for end-users like agents. Very useful: html editor, ability to inserting images directly in post.

In additional, end-user text editor toobar has a button "Cleanup a messy code". What is the purpose of this button? =)

Forum Toolbar  is ok. My concern was  in Ticket view there is no toolbar except an option for attachment.  Find attachment here for the comment box that doesn't have any toolbar.

It would be nice to have toolbar in Ticket view because if i want to edit something I need to go to outlook interface to use editing tools.

I agree... there's no tool bar for styling the TICKET text... bold, italics, highlight, etc.

The biggest thing I have noticed is that end users can not insert images when creating forum content.  They can add it as an attachment but not put it in the article.

This is exceptionally important to me because right now our consulting group creates KB articles for our users and are not Agents.  To solve the problem they create the doc in word and my team has to port them in but that is obviously a lot of wasted time.

How do users delete their own posts?  What if someone posts out of emotion and regrets posting their comment and wants to delete it?  They shouldn't have to create a support ticket to ask us to delete their post.

Also, why cant we expose to end-users the same post editing and image inserting tools available to agents when creating a post?  There are two tool bars available to agents... with everything there you might need.  We are getting a "black-eye" with this feature not being available as it is one of the most commonly available tools available to most modern forums.

A prime example here... What if I wanted to delete the above post? How do I do it?  Not that I want to, but if I did, i cant even do it on the Zendesk forum.
