I saw posts about adding tickets to Google calendar, but I'm not sure how to do so. I need some way to auto add new tickets to either Google calendar, or a calendar within Zendesk.
We added the calendar from google using iframes for the gadgets.
Attaching the code we used to this message.
We have found that with the "Quick Add" you can put in (for instance)
May 12, 2010 2PM Ticket number -- and it will automatically put it in the correct date and time with the ticket number as the subject. It doesn't automatically add the ticket, but it certainly makes it easy to add, and easy to see what all the schedules are.
hey this is setup for google apps. is there anyway to do it for a regular gmail account?
You can embed a google calendar (the <iframe> code) to your custom widget; with google calendar, you can actually specify the height and width as well as the items you would like to show up on the embedded calendar.
Having said that, I believe with the embedded calendar it's a read-only item (as far as I know at least) ... Not sure where I can find that "Quick Add" item where @Skye mentioned ... :(
The ability to add tickets/jobs to Google Calendar is a must for us. I still have not found the ideal solution be it CRM or ticket system that can do this well.

this doesnt work for me, i cant seem to modify the code for my own google apps calendar?
I have a work around for this. I was unable to effectively get the provided code to appear in my widget as I hoped. So I went to the iGoogle page for my Google Apps account. There was a gadget there that displayed the month and an agenda view of events. It also showed the Options and Add button. Now, this allows me to add my calendar and let's me create events. What I cannot figure out is how to default showing all the calendars that I want.
I grabbed the <iframe> by inspecting the page element in Google Chrome. You could also use Firebug in Firefox to do this as well. Then simply copy and paste into your widget. Hope this helps.
We are using a combination of targets, triggers, php, & MyEventBot to send task due dates to our google apps calenders. That may sound complicated, but it's actually pretty easy. And, once you set it up, it just works.
Here's a link to learn how we did it: http://links.mpacomputers.com/addtask
hello, I need to modify the calendar identifying holidays and create calendar for different shifts.
@Celesterondon I see you have a ticket about this, we'll get back to you there.
I'm building a knowledge base and would like to include a calendar that shows when we present live demonstrations. Do I need to iFrame a Google calendar (as suggested by above posts dating back to 2010) or has Zendesk added a calendar feature to the Help Center side of things?
P.S. Is there actual system documentation for Zendesk or is this forum the primary way I should be looking up information on how to do things? I find it challenging to parse through all of the questions and answers and I'd rather check the "official" documentation before referring to the community. Does such a thing exist?
