Internationalization of agent and admin interface

This week was a fairly small release with a big impact for our international customers...

New Stuff

Agents and admins now have the option to interact with Zendesk in any of our 10 core languages (Japanese, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Italian, and Dutch). You may change your language by editing your own profile, and choosing any of the available languages. This works on both Lotus and Classic.

We have played with it at Zendesk a lot; it is fun to see the UI in a completely different, foreign language.  Here is my screen in Japanese:

Fixed Stuff

Last week we introduced a bug where the new trial account owners were not able to initially change password policy level. This has been changed and all new trials can select any of the three password security level.

Hi. What does it take to get this in Norwegian? Need help?

Alex, for now we do not have specific plans to add Norwegian support for the admin/agent pages.  However, that might change depending on demand.  You might want to submit a feature request to see if others want this language.

About help... trust me you do not want to go there.  The number of words has increased by 10x to 45,000 and we are adding words every Thursday afternoon.  As you can see, it requires a different level of commitment than what is required for translating the end-user facing strings.

Thanx for your feedback. 45,000? OMG! Good luck:-) I'll post a feature request and hope for the best.

Hi.

I know this have been asked before, but when will Zendesk be fully translated into Swedish?
Like it is now it seems like some text is translated and some not, but in the past few days more have been translated.

Is someone working on it as we speak?

Daniel, yes we have people updating non-core translations all the time.  Specifically, we have a Zendesk customer who is doing the Swedish translation.  Whenever we have new strings for translation, we inform this person.
