Important Information for GoodData Customers

From August 11th through August 24th, all Zendesk accounts will be migrated to the latest version of the GoodData connector. During this migration, exports of your ticket metrics to GoodData will continue as normal, however, it’s possible you may experience a few seconds of downtime when trying to access your GoodData dashboard.

Potential Impact to Your GoodData Projects

After the migration, customers on the first version (V1) of the GoodData connector will now have access to a new project, which can be accessed via the project dropdown in the right-hand corner of the GoodData UI. This project's dashboard includes a default template with many new reports and metrics introduced over a year ago, and will become your dashboard moving forward. Your old project will remain active until October 31st, 2012, so you can copy over any customized reports and dashboards to your new project. Unfortunately, there is no direct migration path from the V1 connector to the latest GoodData connector. Additionally, any data previously uploaded to your GoodData project via manual CSV upload will be lost during this migration, regardless of your current connector version. This feature was rarely used by Zendesk customers and was sunsetted a few months ago, so it's likely your project will not be impacted by this change.

Furthermore, irregardless of your current connector version, any data uploaded directly to your GoodData project via manual CSV upload will be lost during this migration. This feature was rarely used by Zendesk customers and was sunsetted a few months ago, so it's likely your project will not be impacted by this change.

Determining Your GoodData Connector Version

To help you understand if you'll be moved to a new dashboard, follow these simple steps:

  1. Log in as an administrator on your Zendesk account
  2. Navigate to Manage > Reporting and click on the Export tab
  3. In the CSV export section, click on schedule
  4. Look at the URL entered in the Callback URL text-box. If the URL does not start like the following example, you are on the v1 connector and will be migrated: https://secure.gooddata.com/gdc/connectors/zendesk2/fetchdata?p=.......

Why Is This Migration Occurring?

The latest version of the GoodData connector is much more efficient and runs on a faster database infrastructure. Also, by moving off the V1 connector, you'll get access to new metrics and dashboards. Having all customers on the same version of the connector helps during troubleshooting and ensures you're getting access to everything our GoodData integration offers.

Hi Ben,

Thanks for this information. I can't see any difference between now and before in my dashboard view, though. I have GoodData for Zendesk and Advanced Metrics, which I've had for the past couple of months.

I'm indeed on the new connector: https://secure.gooddata.com/gdc/connectors/zendesk2/fetchdata?p=5...

@Arnaud, sorry for the confusion, but if you're on v2 of the GoodData connector, you shouldn't see any difference in GoodData. Only v1 customers will see a new project.
