Multiple Organizations for a Single User

I would love to be able to assign a user to more than one organization. This way someone from Finance could see tickets in Finance (org1), Accounts Payable (org2), and Accounts Receivable (org3) - for example.

Not really sure I understand this one - I take it you mean this in an internal use scenario?

I use organizations to separate people into "collections" to allow them to see and comment on each other's tickets - they log tickets to ask a centralized support team for help - and I don't want them to see tickets from other organizations.

A scenario would be: Bob, Brenda, and Baljeet from Accounts Payable (AP organization) see each other's tickets and can make comments on them. Earl, Evelyn, and Enping from Accounts Receivable (AR organization) see each other's tickets and can make comments on them. Zed, the CFO can see tickets from BOTH AP and AR, as he belongs to both AP and AR organizations (he is NOT an agent, just a user, but he would belong to TWO organizations). Agents can see it all (of course). 

I need to allow a user to span two (or more) separate ogranizations, see the tickets, and make comments - across multiple organizations. I drew a picture in visio, but cannot attach it here...

This looks similar to another post (https://support.zendesk.com/entries/12810-users-can-belong-to-multi...), which (depending on the view) is shown to be "Accepted" (in orange) and "Done" (in green).  Has this really happened?  (It doesn't look like it on our own "manage people" page.)

Yeah, if you could continue in that discussion that'd be great. There's a bug with our Search Results at the moment, where it's showing all Idea Topics as Accepted/Done, which is annoying, and will be fixed by the weekend.
