This is an old article but I'll comment anyway.

For the past week or so this doesn't funktion well at all. When I try this now the right side of the frame is cut, and the left frame gets bold. This happens if I use Firefox. See image.

If I try in Chrome the frames doesn't show at all no matter what I do.

Can someone please look into this please?  Thank you.

    Hi Susanne,

If I had to guess, it looks like your snipping tool application may be trying to apply a drop shadow to the edges of the snipped image and they aren't rendering correctly.  Are you seeing this when you are pasting the image into an article or a community post?

You can try saving the image and pasting it into another application on your computer (MS Word maybe) to see if you have the same border.  This would indicate that it's the snipping tool adding the edge to the image on save.

If it's being pasted into an article in Zendesk Guide, you might be able to take a look at the source code to see if there is anything around the image that could be causing issues.

If you can provide some more details on where you are putting the image when you see the black bars, it may be more helpful to understand if this is something that the Zendesk team can resolve or if it's local to your machine.

Thank you for that fast reply. :)

Yes, when pasting the image into a community post like this one the borders are as shown in the image I posted earlier.

I actually am pasting the image into a word-document atm to get the borders displayed correctly. So it works when I paste it into word but not if I paste it directly in the ticket answer or a community post.

I haven't tried to paste any images into Guide or an article so that isn't the issue right now. The main issue for me is when pasting the image directly in the ticket answers (not macros, but when I'm answering tickets).

Hope I've explained myself in a way so you understand what I mean. :)

It sounds like how the snipping tool is storing the image might be the problem if a paste into Word and out is resolving the issue.  It may be worth looking at your computer to see what has changed since it last worked as expected.

It may be worth submitting a ticket to Zendesk Support in case it's a bug.  I'm not seeing it here, but I'm also not on Windows so my variables are different.

Thanks for sharing your workaround, I'm glad it's not something that is unavoidable.

I am not storing the image before I paste it into a ticket. I am using the copy-option - exactly how you describe it in this article. Do you still think that could be the issue? This happens on several more computers - not just mine.

If you are seeing it on multiple computers, I would recommend  submitting the ticket to Zendesk Support to see if it's something they can assist with.  The article above is community contributed, so it's not necessarily endorsed as an official solution by Zendesk, however, if it's exposing a bug in how community posts accept images, it may be something that can be addressed to keep this tip relevant for others that may benefit from the workflow that Ash shared with us.

@Daniel thanks for jumping in here and offering up advice!

@Susanne this looks like some odd behavior so I'm going to create a ticket on your behalf so our Customer Advocacy team can take a look for you. You'll receive a follow-up email shortly stating your ticket has been created. Feel free to reply back to that email if you have any additional information to provide.

    Thanks!
