Feature Request: Import National Holidays
BeantwortetHi
It would be great to be able to import national holidays!
Choose which country's holidays to import, click a button and voila all holidays are created in Zendesk!
-
Now, there's an idea!
-
Thats awesome! I will be looking for this!!
-
Is this feature on the marketplace yet? I cannot find it...
-
Hi Jens,
The app is still under review. I'll post something here once it is published.
-
That is awesome... i am missing some options in choice of country though :-)
-
I'll add Denmark this weekend ;-)
-
You are the best Alex :-)
-
Awesome Alex!
-
Perfect!
I was also looking for this - been a feature of Outlook for a long time, to import national holiday ISO calendar.
-
Hi Alex,
No chance you might add Belgium to the list as well? ;)
-
Hi Thomas,
I'll work on that and the 2018 holidays.
-
Hi can you pleas add German hollidays too?
-
We'd need German holidays as well, please add!
-
Suggestion.
Sync the holidays from a public database so we don't even have to import them. You can start with the swedish calendar ;)
Awesome app btw.
-
Please add Sweden to the existing version =)

Hey Kalle,
Since this is a 3rd party integration you may want to reach out directly to the developer with this feedback. I was able to track down the listed website here: https://aculligan.github.io/work/holidate
Hope this helps!

Thanks Brett, I just did =)
-
Happy to help :)

I will work on Sweden in the next week or so. The syncing from a public database is something I do want to do eventually so users can have access to more holidays. I just haven't had the time to work on it much.

Hi all!
Working on the update for 2020. Started early because I think there might be a lot to do and I have limited time.
I got some, let's call it, "feedback" that the app didn't have enough countries or that it was missing holidays for the countries it had.
For 2020, I can definitely do more countries. In fact, I have a list of 70 countries that would benefit. I can also do more holidays; even observances and UN declared holidays - the whole shebang!.
However, all that would come with one issue... Users wouldn't be able to import holidays in the local language. Local holiday names were obtained from various sources and it was very time consuming (I don't just want to use Google Translate and trust it it will be ok). There might be workarounds, like letting the user type in the name they want.
I might also explore the option of making it a paid app for countries not already supported and for the option of importing more than the standard holidays I was already providing. Don't worry Kalle, I will include Sweden for free since I promised. I just forgot.
These would be big changes and I want to make sure current users stay happy. Maybe we can set up a beta testing program. Open to ideas here.

Thanks mate :). I would be fine to have all the holidays imported in English. Crucial part for me is to not forget to add a since a make use of the holiday trigger with email notification
-
Just published Sweden 2019. No local language. I will post something here when I have a working version for next update.
-
Hi Alex,
Any plans to integrate The Netherlands as well?
Thanks!
Regards, Ron

This looks like it is marked as answered but I am not sure why. Can you take a look at it?

Today our Holidays App for Zendesk was launched. It will help you to import holidays of almost every country and state in many languages.
