Hi I have a similar problem with the Widget, everything is in German but I have one text in english "Hi welcome to our chat". As I have several countries using the same domain I cannot select the main language to german so I am using the Auto detect language in the Widget settings.

I have an open ticket with Zopim ( #415446 ) and what they are suggesting is to change the language to German, but that wont work due to I have other countries.

Have you find the solution for the translation problem?

    Thanks, Esther

    Hi Tara,

Are you still having problems with the translation?  On my own site, the department label is translated correctly.  If you are, could you please send a ticket to support@zendesk.com and include screenshots of the locations that are not correctly translated so we can look at it right away?

    Hi James,

I actually already raised this with Zopim and they just told me to just submit a request in here. When you're on https://es.zopim.com the widget badge stays in English and says 'We're online':

When you click on the widget, the form is in Spanish, but the Department field has been updated to 'What can we help you with?'  with the options 'Billing Matters' and 'General enquiries'. This does not translate and there is no option to provide translations, for example using a feature like dynamic content, for the widget. We'd really like to use this option but we can't expect vistiors to our Spanish/Italian etc. sites to use this when it's in English. It also looks very un-professional and we'd be reluctant to put it on our site if it's not translatable.

    Thanks,

    Tara

    Hi James,

I actually already raised this to Zopim and was just told to post here - if you go to es.zopim.com the widget isn't translated correctly. I'm presuming the 'What can we help you with?' field on the form is just the department field renamed? There is no translation for this - we'd really like to use the department field in the same way but we can't put it on our site if it can't be translated.

    Thanks,

    Tara

    Hi Tara,

Do you have a ticket number you could share with me?  I'd like to review that ticket so I can gain more context about this conversation.

No - there's no solution yet. If you leave everything set to the defaults it doesn't look too bad, but it renders most of the 'Widget Customization' redundant.

Our webpage is in 12 languages so translation is a big issue - we can't use the badge, department field and we can't change any of the text on the widget otherwise it looks really unprofessional on the page.

Even if you change the language on the widget it won't work - they really need to allow dynamic content placeholders to be used in the widget. =(

Thanks Tara for your reply.  I got a suggestion  from Zopim to modify the script in the API so that the chat language will be based on the language or country of the visitor .

    Have you try that?

    /Esther
