Can you show a screenshot of the errors that you received? I downloaded the code from Git (as a zip file) to check this. I had to install .NET Core 2.2 Runtime (v2.2.8) to get the code to run, but once I did that, the program did open the console window and show the first prompt without any exceptions.

What type of computer are you using? The code was developed on a PC originally. I'm now working on a Mac.

    Hi Karen,

Nice tool here! Have you heard or know of anyone who has used it to bulk verify around 50,000 users? And if not, what do you think would be the best way to do that using the outputted user XML file from Zendesk would be? Thanks much!

I haven't heard of anybody using the tool to bulk verify around 50,000 users. Unfortunately I can think of two problems you might run into with such a large amount of users:

    • Exception due to the large file size: The article here about how to parse and read a large spreadsheet document states the following regarding the approach of using the SDK DOM: the DOM approach requires loading entire Open XML parts into memory, which can cause an Out of Memory exception when you are working with really large files. I did use the DOM approach, because the SAX approach, which would be better for very large files, looked more complicated to implement, and I had a small file and limited time.
    • Zendesk rate limits: Some updates might fail if you perform too many in a specific amount of time. You can find more information on the Zendesk rate limits here. Again, due to limited time and small file size, my code does not check for a rate-limiting response from the Zendesk APIs.

I would recommend that you could try using the tool, but if you run into one or both problems, you would need development resources to modify the code as needed.

Thanks Karen Snyder! Sounds good. We may go an alternate route, but will let you know if we attempt this.

    Thanks again!
