Add a source field in contacts

It makes no sense that all info on the Lead card wouldn't be carried over to the contact, especially the Source. Knowing the Source of the Lead means nothing if we can't track which sources yield the best results (Sales! aka the point where Leads are converted into Contacts).

Hello Joanne Stauffer, to track source effectiveness, lead sources are transferred to deal sources, here's you can read more. So looking at won/lost/unqualified deals by deal source should answer your analysis. 

If you still want to have information about source on Contacts, here's an article with available workaround.
