Add Slack to user identity
Feature Request Summary:
- Identify end users creating tickets via Slack Direct Messages with more than their name
- (Optional) Standardise slack as a Zendesk user identity type
Description/Use Cases:
End users creating a ticket via Slack Direct Messages integration are only identified by their Slack name at the time of the first message creation. While the user can be merged into an existing one that has an email identity, the original user identity can't actually be verified.
Proposed solutions:
- Expand app scope and request
users:read.email
permission to identify users by their email. - (Optional) Add slack as user identity type enabling admins to bulk-manage user identities and pre-identify slack users. It will also enable developers to build custom slack integrations utilising native Zendesk user identity. (e.g. custom notifications apps)
