Zendesk is changing how lookup relationship field limits are enforced on tickets.
This announcement includes the following topics:
What's changing?
Zendesk is changing how lookup relationship field limits are enforced on tickets. With this change, your existing plan-based limit on lookup relationship fields will now apply per ticket form, and not on ticket fields, so you can use your full allowance on each ticket form. This extension applies only to plans that have multiple ticket forms. Eligible customers can create up to 40 lookup relationship fields on the Ticket fields page.
For example, if you have a plan limit of 10 Lookup relationship fields per object, you can create up to 40 lookup relationship fields on ticket fields, and assign up to 10 of those lookup relationship fields on ticket forms.
Why is Zendesk making this change?
Companies continue to leverage lookup relationship fields to link their tickets to related records, such as Assets, Products, Contracts, Entitlements, and so on. As they expand Zendesk to more customer and employee workflows, enforcing lookup relationship limits on ticket fields restricts customers from connecting their tickets to the necessary context required to solve the ticket. Enforcing at the ticket form level ensures that administrators can focus on bringing in the necessary context for that workflow.
What do I need to do?
Eligible admins can review their ticket forms and add lookup relationship fields, as needed, up to the plan-based limit for each form. Learn more about our plan based limits here.
