End of Development and Support of the JIRA legacy integration Follow

Announced on Development ends
February 21, 2017 March 21, 2017

The Jira v2 app will no longer be supported. If you are currently using the JIRA legacy integration, you can continue to use it, but it will no longer be supported.

This article covers the following topics:

What does this mean?

After the End of Development date, Zendesk will not make updates to the Jira v2 app. We will also delist the JIRA legacy integration. If have this integration, you can still access it, but it will no longer be supported.

You can upgrade to the new v3 version of the JIRA integration when you are ready.

Why is Zendesk removing this?

Atlassian is deprecating JIRA 6, therefore we are mirroring their efforts and focusing on JIRA 7 and newer versions. The v2 legacy integration was built by our service partner Service Rocket, and supports up to JIRA 6 only. Zendesk built the new and improved version to support JIRA 7 and newer versions.

Maintaining an older version of the integration when a new version is available limits our ability to ensure a valuable experience with the new functionality and takes time away from supporting the new functionality. For more details, see the Zendesk End of Life policy, How much notice will Zendesk give for feature deprecations.

Am I affected?

Zendesk administrators can check to see which version of the integration their account is using by looking under the Apps section in Zendesk Support.

What do I need to do?

You need to install the new JIRA integration before the development ends date see Setting up the integration.

For migrating issues to the JIRA integration v3 and retiring the JIRA Legacy integration see Migrating to the JIRA integration v3.

What happens if I don’t migrate before the removal date?

If you are still using the old version of the app at the removal date, the app will no longer be supported and you won’t be able to raise tickets, receive new features, troubleshoot, and so on.
