When communicating on Chat, some users can appear to be getting disconnected early and/or when they navigate away from the web browser on their mobile device. Why might this be happening?
Many mobile devices manage background processes differently. Often time iOS devices will proactively end processes if you move away from your web browser to the home screen or another app. Some Android devices might behave similarly if the battery saving settings are quite aggressive.
Since these are system level settings, the Chat application and widget cannot override these settings. If this becomes a blocker for you and you have your own mobile app(s), you could consider using our Chat SDK to facilitate conversations. The Chat SDK has up to a 5 minute timeout.
