Why am I missing Chat widget settings?
If your Zendesk Chat account is integrated with Zendesk Support, some options may be missing on the Chat widget settings (like the option to change the theme, color, offline form, etc.). This is the result when the Contact form and Help Center is enabled in the Web Widget settings (see Configuring components in the Web Widget).
If you have Integrated Chat experience enabled in your account, you will also see different widget settings.
This article is a guide on how to make all the Chat Widget settings appear on the Chat dashboard.
Only admins/account owner can make these changes.
- Access your Zendesk Support account.
- On the left-hand side of the page, click Admin () > Channels > Widget.
- Under Customization, turn off both Contact form and Help Center options.
- Scroll down to Save changes and reload your Chat dashboard to see the missing widget settings. If the changes do not appear right away, clear the cache and cookies on your browser.
These changes allow Chat administrators to see additional settings from within the Chat dashboard as desired. For further details on which elements can be customized in the widget, see Customizing the appearance of the widget.
Below is an example of how the settings page in the Chat dashboard will look based on if the Contact form is active or not.
