Hi there,
Currently, I successfully uploaded my profile photo as my own face. However, when our users ask us questions through live chat, they see another colleague's face. Is there any way to fix this glitch?
I have re-uploaded my photo several times.
Thanks,
Eunice
Hi Eunice! Welcome to the Community!
That's odd...can you tell me how you're logging in to chat? I have to think that you're inadvertently logging in under a different profile for some reason.
The directions indicate that an admin can either upload a new photo or delete one that's already been uploaded. Perhaps a bug, but we only have ability to upload new. How do we help a user completely get rid of their profile photo? (I realize we could upload a new one, but that doesn't totally solve it)
Hey Adam! Welcome to the Community!
It's odd that the Remove option isn't displaying for you...are any other agents or admins in your Zendesk having the same problem? It shows up both in our main Zendesk instance as well as my test instance, so I'm inclined to think that this might be a browser caching issue...
If I upload a new picture, I can remove it, but I am still unable to remove the original picture. He doesn't want a picture at all. How do we fix?
Hi Adam,
I think this is going to take some more in-depth troubleshooting than what we can do here in the Community, so I'm going to get a ticket started for you. You'll be getting an email from me shortly!
HI, is there a way to bulk upload the same profile picture for all of our agents (e.g., company logo)
Hi Kim,
There's no native way to bulk upload a profile picture such as a company logo, across many agent profiles like you're looking for here. The only ways to achieve doing this are as per the below:
1. You could send an email out to all agents, which includes the company logo image, asking them to login and update the image which is linked to their user profile.
You can further check to see which agents have/haven't done this by looking at the agent list under Admin > Manage > People > Select Agents or Admin button to view the list of agents. The image which displays next to their name is what their current profile image is set too. A quick browser of this will show you who has completed this task or not.
2. The only other way to do this in bulk would be to leverage our API. You could look at using the Create or Update many users API call here. You would need to know the agents user ID's in advance and then use this call/create a script which will update the attached profile image for all of the elected agent IDs.
If you're not sure how to use the API yourself, we recommend for you to reach out to a web developer who can assist you with this from there.
Hope this helps put you on track with your query from here. :)
Best,
Amie
Our agents log into their accounts using the G suite accounts for the company. Is there a way to edit or remove the profile photos that show on Zendesk? Every time an agent edits their photo it reverts to the one being used by the google account the next day.
Hi Ben!
Point of clarification here: do you want agents to use their Google profile photos? Or do you want the photo to stay as whatever the agents set from their Zendesk profile?
Hi jessie,
We'd like agents to be able to remove their Google profile photos or change them. Unfortunately whatever changes agents make seem to revert back to their Google images!
Hey Ben, the behavior you are describing here sounds very similar to Gravatar. Gravatar is a Wordpress service which allows its users to upload a profile picture which then uses that for any other service which utilizes profile pictures. You can read more about this behavior on this article: Why isn't my profile picture updating correctly?
Hi Dan, the profile pictures are automatically populated from the agents Google profiles they use to access Zendesk. I want to remove these, whenever you click remove picture the next day the image is populated again. This isn't ideal for us for protecting our agent's identity.
Hey Ben!
I think this may require a bit more in depth troubleshooting. To get this done I am going to create a ticket on your behalf, keep an eye on your inbox!
Hi,
is there the possibility to only show the profile image internally, but externally show none or another one?
Hi Christian,
There wouldn't be a way to only show the profile picture internally or set up two different profile pictures.
That being said, you can disable profile pictures within emails by navigating to Admin>Channels>Emails.
Screenshot for you below:
This may not be the exact solution you're looking for but I do hope it helps!
Hi,
is there a way to restrict agents from changing their profile picture?
Hey there Aja,
Currently at this time there isn't a way to restrict users from updating their own profiles (or names) for that matter. The restrictions allowed within custom roles can allow you to prevent updates to other users, but not for their own profiles, sadly.
There are ways to disable profile pictures entirely, much like Brett mentioned above, but I'm afraid this would be the work-around type option we have here.
I'm very sorry I don't have better news here, but I can definitely mark this comment as product feedback! Restrictions like this would be a great feature to have.
Hello! I am able to remove my photo but it defaults to the original one I used. I do not want a photo at all how can we change it so it's empty? I am only prompted to upload a new photo but cannot leave it blank. Is this possible?
Helo Jackpocket,
If you navigate to your profile you should be able to click on your image and choose "remove photo" to return it to a blank image.
Best regards.
