How is the user name set when an end user profile is created from their initial email?
When a user sends their first email to your Zendesk, a new user profile will be created for that requester. At the time of creation, our system will take everything before the @ symbol and make that the user name. What's more, our system will attempt to parse that data in to a proper name. For example, if a customer sends an email form email@example.com, our system will create a new user with a name of John Doe. If a customer submits their first request using firstname.lastname@example.org, our system will most-likely create that user with Jdoe as the user name.
