Does Zendesk allow short code numbers for Text?

    Is there any plan to incorporate this feature?  Our company is currently experiencing blacklisting issues because of the volume of texts we send, and we will be continuing to increase that volume.

    Short codes are not currently in our development plans, but if you'd like to suggest that to our product managers, you can post that in our Product Feedback topic in the Community.

    For the messaging number you purchase would it be possible to call that number? So if we have a messaging number could I call that number and get a CSR?

    Hey Joshua!

    Not every number can be enabled for both messaging and voice calls, but many of them are.  If you look at the number provisioned under Admin >> Text, there will be an "Enable or Talk" setting if that number is able to be used for both. If you do see that setting there and enable it, that number setting will be visible under Admin >> Talk and you can setup call routing processes just like you would for a voice-only number.

    Hi Nicole,

    Any updates regarding this? Based on our rapidly scaling user-base and communications, short text has become a requirement for our day to day operation.

    @McCabe - no updates to share at this time. It's not something we've received any word on from product.
