We are excited to announce general availability of individual users in user segments. The feature has been in EAP for a while and some of you have already had the chance to try it. In preparation for the release, we also redesigned the user segments management UI to provide a more seamless experience with richer editing and preview capabilities.
Selecting individual users to add to a user segment makes it easy to grant users access to a Help Center article, topic, or moderator group in Zendesk Guide and Zendesk Gather. User segments are central to many use cases so we want to make sure segmentation is simple to work with for all customers.
What is new?
Previously, you could organize user segments based on tags, groups, and organizations. Now you can also add a user, that hasn’t met any filters, to the user segment. If no filters are selected the user segment will include only the specified users. Upon refining a user segment you will see updates to the matching users in the right-side preview panel. Click View all matching users to preview users’ roles, tags, organizations, and groups. Read more here: Creating user segments for Guide user permissions.
We introduced UI changes to the user segments management experience. You can see all the segments without needing to switch between Staff and Signed-in users tabs. Read more here: Managing user segments.
What do I need to do?
The User Segments experience will be updated automatically for all Professional and Enterprise Guide customers. The feature will be rolling out starting from January 14 2021.
