Using the Help Center mobile layout on devices

Is there a way to customize the mobile platform via code? Or is it just default options given, except the few things we can change? If there's no way to customize the code, will there be an option to do so in the future?

Reason I ask is because I setup the desktop site to use Instant Search and Article Suggestions, which seem to not work when the Mobile Site is enabled. For now, I setup media queries, but it's not as friendly as the mobile site of course. Also, the mobile site looks a tad gross in spots (all hyperlinks to articles are all mushed together in categories).

It would be nice to be able to customize the mobile site, since we get control of the desktop.

    Thanks for the help!

I tried to follow these instructions:

To use the mobile layout on devices

    1. In Guide, click the Settings () icon in the sidebar.
    2. Under Integrations, select the Mobile Layout option.
    3. Click Update.

Unfortunately, "Mobile Layout" is not a possibility under my integration settings. I have Guide Professional.

Where can I find it otherwise?

The way this document reads is very confusing.  Can you clarify that if you are using the Copenhagen theme you wont see the Mobile Layout section or not?  I don't see it in my professional account either.

Same question here. Is there a way to customize mobile layouts?

    Hey Timothy,

The mobile layout feature has been deprecated in favor of the responsive Copenhagen theme that should be available on your account. It's possible you still have this feature if you've never toggled the mobile layout off in your Guide Admin settings. Additionally, if you're already using the Copenhagen theme this this mobile layout will not show up.

Once this option is toggled off it will disappear permanently so you'll want to take that into consideration as well. The mobile layout cannot be customized, however, the responsive Copenhagen theme can be. I would recommend taking a look at the following documentation which I hope you'll find useful:

Unfortunately that doesn't do the trick. We're using the {{#if signed_in}} conditional on the main page templates to hide content based on signed-in status.  But that control is not available in mobile layout.  So we just had to turn-off the mobile layout entirely.  Not useable without the control based on sign-in.

    Hey Timothy,

AFAIK this is expected behavior since the mobile layout does not allow for you to customize what can display on the page when viewing your Help Center from a mobile device.

You'll want to look into the Copenhagen theme which will give you much more customization options versus the mobile option which you've already disabled.

Apologies for not being able to provide an alternative solution for you here.

No worries. It's not fatal. Thanks for the help
