Using the Apps Marketplace Follow

The Apps Marketplace is the hub for apps to customize and extend your Zendesk Support. In the Marketplace, you'll find easily-installable apps and integrations to enhance analytics and reporting, time tracking, agent productivity, and more.

App types

There are a number of categories that help turn your Zendesk Support into a customized CS tool, from Analytics and Reporting to Time Tracking to Fun stuff. Each of these categories includes apps that fall into the following categories:

  • Third-party apps: Apps created by non-Zendesk folks, downloaded and installed into your Zendesk Support configuration. These apps are verified and supported by our customer service team.
  • Built by Zendesk: Apps created here at Zendesk, downloaded and installed into your configuration. These apps (naturally) are supported by Zendesk customer service team.
  • Zendesk Labs: Apps created by Zendesk users, downloaded and installed into your configuration. Zendesk does not support or guarantee these apps, but don't let that scare you - there are some incredibly useful and clever things here.
  • Integrations: External applications created and designed to work with your configuration. You're essentially downloading and installing an app that creates a bridge between you and the external app. You will typically access these applications by clicking the Learn More button on the integration's Marketplace page.

Some of the available apps are intended for use by multiple team members; others are for individuals to improve their own workflow. App descriptions include information on how they are meant to be used.

Finding apps

You can locate the ideal app in the marketplace, in one of the following ways:

  • Using the Apps finder: Scroll through the app icons on the Marketplace homepage. When you see one that looks interesting, hover your cursor over the icon for a brief description of the app. Click the icon to go to the app's page, where you can get more information and download it, if you so choose.
  • Searching: Enter search terms into the box at the top right of the Marketplace homepage to locate apps by app name, functionality, or other keyword.
  • Browsing: Click any of the links along the right side of the Marketplace homepage to narrow down by type or function the apps displayed in the main window. This is a good way to filter for Zendesk Labs or Built by Zendesk apps, in particular.

Installing and uninstalling apps

When you've chosen an app or integration you want to add, installing it is a simple matter.

To install an app

  1. Click the app's icon to go to the app's info page.
  2. Click the Instructions tab to view and complete any pre-install tasks.
  3. Click the Install App button in the upper right of the page to open the Installation page, and enter any requested information.
  4. Click the link to view the Zendesk Marketplace Terms of Use.
  5. Click the Install button.

    The app is installed in your Zendesk Support.

To install an integration

  1. Click the integration's icon to go to the info page.
  2. Click the Instructions tab to view and complete any pre-install tasks.
  3. Click the Learn More button in the upper right of the page.
  4. Follow the installation instructions given.

If you decide an app is no longer needed, you can uninstall it.

To uninstall an app

  1. On your Administrator page, Click the Admin icon ().
  2. Select Apps > Manage.
  3. Hover your cursor over the app you want to uninstall.
  4. Click the app options icon (), and select Uninstall.
  5. In the Uninstall App window, click the Uninstall App button.
