When you try to add a support email address, the following error appears: "Email is in use by a user. Remove it from the user before adding it here."
A user is associated with an email address that you want to add as a support email address.
Cause and resolution
- Search for the email using native search.
- Open the user profile of the user with the email from the User(s) tab in the search results.
- Click on the user's email and select edit email and change it to another email address.
This will free up the email to be added as a support address.
