Help Center improvements
Browse with ease
We have updated the design of the Help Center to make it easier for your users to explore and discover helpful articles. Instead of a hierarchical menu, the Help Center component of the SDK now has a flat design.
The look and feel on both Android and iOS is slicker. For Android, we have adhered to material design principles, making navigation more intuitive. The colors of both SDKs continue to be customisable.
Take a look at the gifs below for a taster of the new UI.
Filter for the content you want
In earlier versions of the SDK, you could filter your Help Center to show a single category or section. We have improved this experience to allow you to specify multiple categories or sections, making it easier to show the content you want, without having to resort to a complex article labelling system.
Choose an out-of-the-box theme
We have updated the themes for Android, giving you a light theme, a light theme with a dark action bar, and a dark theme. The colours of the theme are based on the main colours you define.
The screenshots below reflect this author's terrible taste, aiming to show some of the different out-of-the-box possibilities.
Getting started with, or upgrading to, v1.7
Our developer documentation is the best place to start. Here's a handy list of the pages that will help you get started or upgrade to v1.7:
- Android: Introduction, Getting started, Release notes, Known issues.
- iOS: Introduction, Quick-start tutorial, Release notes, Known issues.
An update to the Remember The Date apps for Android and iOS will follow shortly.
Our next update to v1.7 will be to add support for Android 7 and iOS 10, both of which are due for release soon. Take a look at the community post Chat and Support SDKs: Android 7 (Nougat) and iOS 10 updates for more info and to follow updates.
Giving your feedback
The best place to share your feedback is in the Zendesk SDKs community.
There are a few ways to contribute:
- If you have more detailed feedback, consider creating a new post about it in the community. We review posts daily, and it allows other members of the community to contribute to your discussion.
- Add your comments to an existing post, or vote on one.
