There is another use case where this might error out:

    - In Salesforce under the Zendesk tab for global settings, click "Go to mappings" under User and Organization Sync Settings.
    - Under Sync Pairing, select "Contacts-Users" (it defaults to "Accounts - Organizations").
    - Scroll down to Field Mapping. It will default to whatever the first Salesforce field is, which is fine. However, ensure you do not have first name, last name, and/or email added as these sync automatically so adding them may confuse the sync (if present delete them).

Removing those fields removed the error and allowed the sync to progress.

I am getting this error and I have the issue John described with Email added to the field mapping for Contacts-Users, but I am unable to delete 'Email' from the mappings.

Does it not have the Del next to the email field? I did a dummy add and delete for mine.

It has the Del button, which I click and get a spinning circle, and nothing happens.

    Hey Mary,

Are you able to replicate this issue from a Chrome Incognito window?

Also, are there any browser errors showing up when you attempt to select this Del button? More information on opening up your browser's console error here: How to open the developer console

Let us know if you continue to experience issues on your end.

    Thanks!
