How can I transfer a call to an external number with an extension?
Once you determine a call needs to be transferred to an external number, there are two options to send it to a number with an extension:
- Type down the number you want to transfer the call to and once the call is connected, select the extension that you would like to transfer to. Click Transfer and the customer will be connected correctly.
- Save the external number in your account as an end user and add an extension number under Phone:
As per the above screenshot, add the number (including country code, for example +1 for USA) followed by an x that indicates the place where you add the extension. When transferring the call, select this end user from the console and click Transfer. This way you do not need to stay on the call to select an extension number.
