    Hi Zendesk Team!

    I am working on localizing my website, And getting my hands on Zendesk Chat for my new website which will be in French.

    How can I localize the text on the Appereance of chat and forms? Can I use Dinamyc Content here? if not what is the work around?

    Hey Alex,

    The Chat widget is configured to automatically detect the users language by viewing the language of the web page the user is visiting. If you'd like more control over what language is displayed to the visitor, then you can use the Javascript API which I've linked for you.

    I hope the above information helps!

    @Brett

    Hi Brett, so, if I understand you correctly, the widget will auto-translate the default language over to what is detected? How would one go about testing this? I changed my default browser language to French and tried viewing our widget in an incognito window but everything still displayed as English... The business I work for has many French-speaking customers and we are trying to maintain a seamless bilingual experience for both our agents and our customers

    Hey Chris,

    It sounds like you could be using the standalone Chat widget which would work a bit differently here. Check out our documentation here: (Legacy Chat) Setting the language of the Chat widget.

    The Legacy Chat widget detects based on the language of the page it's embedded on. If the page is not in French, your best option would be to use the API instead.
