    Hello Teddy,

You can go into each folder and select values for this filter to apply to. There is a “Link with” setting in the filter that would allow it to point to attribute(s) from a different dataset. I've included a link below that covers this in detail.

Best practices for using dashboard filters

    Best regards.

    Thanks for that, very helpful

Any idea why I can't see any field in the change attribute, for any dataset?

I'm having an issue with data not changing/reverting once I uncheck a custom group attribute in a data filter.

On a simple "Tickets created" query, I want to filter to a custom group of tags. When I use a data filter to use the custom group of tags, the data changes, as expected:

However, if I uncheck the custom group attribute, the data still shows tickets with the custom group attribute:

I tested the data filter by only choosing one or two tags (as opposed to the custom group), and the data would change if I unchecked them. It only doesn't work with my custom group attribute. Does anyone have thoughts as to why this is happening?

My solution was to create separate tabs for the custom tag group so it won't affect overall data.

    Hey Melissa,

I reached out to one of our Explore Experts and it looks like we will need to take a look at your account to see why this is occurring. I'm going to create a ticket on you behalf so we can dig into this further.

    Cheers!

    Hey Brett Bowser,

Thanks so much for that! I actually figured out what I had done wrong. When I created the Custom Group Attribute, I had mistakenly chosen "Remove left values," as this was my first time making a custom group and I thought I did not want to see the other options when I was trying to filter. Unwittingly, this also made it so I couldn't revert to all values when I was trying to remove my new group as a data filter.

Going forward, I will choose either "Keep left value 'as is'," or "Put left values into another group" so I may have the option of seeing all options if I deselect my new group.

Thanks so much for trying to help!
