    Hi!

Is it possible to disable editing the user details by the user. Users are authenticated through SSO and them being able to change their email will create major issues. How can I remove the pencil and logout button?

    Hi Mirjam,

If you authenticate visitors using the authenticated visitors API, they won't be able to edit their information.

You can get more information on how to authenticate visitors here: https://chat.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000776627-Enabling-authenticated-visitors-in-the-Chat-widget

    Thanks,
    Ramin

    Hi Ramin,

Is it possible to disable editing the user details by the user without using your authenticated visitors API?

    Thanks

    Hi there Ivan,

Currently, it is only possible using authenticated visitors. The only alternative would be to build a custom widget using the Web SDK that hides the ability for them to set/edit but it would not prevent updates via APIs.

Easiest solution would be to authenticate visitors at this point in time.

    Thanks,

    Ramin

Is there a way for me to prefill the visitors name using the web widget, without having them engage the form? When I use @visitor_name in my triggers and the user hasn't previously engaged in the chat, our customized message says "Hi Visitor 65850053!". Looking through the API docs, I don't see a way to set visitor information outside of prefill

    Hi Miranda,

If the user hasn't either filled that info in pre-chat the form or been authenticated there isn't going to be a way to prefill their name in the trigger greeting. If the widget is on your help center and user has signed in, the info does autofill from that information.
