Is there any way to share the dashboards via email to external email addresses. I have some customer specific dashboards that I need sent out on a monthly basis and these need to go to people who are not agents or don't raise tickets in Zendesk.

I would like to see that as well.

    Hi Johann and Tim,

At the moment there isn't a way to share dashboards with external parties. As a workaround you can export the dashboard and then send the file on from there.

There is also currently a feature request in our help center requesting that particular feature and I highly recommend you head to that post to up-vote and share your use-case to help influence the future functionality of Explore.

    Hi Jessica,

I cannot find the above link - may be removed??
I find it surprising that we cannot share it out to external parties - especially when it is something that can be done with GoodData - and if Explore is going to replace GoodData - it needs that functionality!

    Is there any plans???

    Chris

    Hi Chris,

My apologies! You should be able to find the feature request post here.

I recommend you share your feedback above in the post. You can also follow the post to get updates from our product managers on this feature request.

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

Wanted to double check if a person that has created dashboards leaves the company, do the dashboards vanish? Or is there a way that if these are shared with someone else, regardless of who the owner is, if he leaves the company and his account is disabled, would the dashboards still be available?

    Thanks,

    Rui

    Hi Rui,

Thanks for the question! When you delete an agent or downgrade them to an end-user you will still have access to any queries and dashboards they created. It will just show that the dashboard or query was created by a deleted user, like my screenshot below:

    I hope that helps!

Are you able to edit dashboards that a deleted user created? I cannot seem to edit the queries once in the dashboard.

    Hi Stephanie,

You should be able to edit dashboards and queries that a deleted user created. There might be something more going on in your case, so I'll send you a ticket to follow up!

Hi Team, is there a way to view usage metrics for shared dashboards? For example, unique views per day, how many views a specific user has etc.?

is there a way to download all tabs in a dashboard at once? when i try to export the data it only downloads 1 tab at a time. Any workarounds out there? thanks in advance.

    Hello Adriana Cifuentes,

Currently, the only way to go about exporting data would be to do so one tab at a time. I would recommend though reaching out to our Product Feedback forum and let our developers know what changes you would like to see take place.

    Best regards.

    Hi Team,

Is there any way to share the dashboard showing stats end user-specific only?

For example, Agent "ABC" should only be able to see his/her stats in Dashboard, should not able to see/select other agents' stats.

    Regards,

    Tejas Patil

Tejas Patil Hi Tejas, this isn't currently possible but do consider requesting it in our feedback forum at https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/topics/360001200913

While not fulfilling your needs completely, you could use bookmarks or the procedure in https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041105634 to switch the dashboard to show a chosen agents stats, but I don't believe you can lock it to stop agents switching to another agents stats.

When I click on Publish after editing a dashboard, it prompts me to share. When I click on preview is shows the unpublished changes. When I share and open the link in a browser, the changes don't show up.

Hi Lea Paucot that doesn't sound right! I've created a ticket from your post so someone can look at this with you to see what's going on. Thanks!

    Hi Mike P,

I understand you would like to be able to share your dashboard to your whole organisation but would prefer that only few users will receive an email invitation. At the moment, there isn't a way to restrict users from getting an email invitation if you have added them to view the dashboard.

I can't find any existing feature request that is particular to this. I highly recommend you head to our Feedback on Explore page and share your use-case to help influence the future functionality of Explore. :)

    Hello Mike P,

That is definitely understandable! Unfortunately, no matter which way you go about it, the first time you turn on sharing with a person, they will get an email notification. That being said, they only get an email when the sharing is first turned on for them, after that they can access the dashboard any time without future emails.

The one alternate option that I can think of is this: Announcing sharing of Explore dashboards outside of Zendesk EAP. It allows you to create a sharable link, so anyone with the link can view the dashboard. That being said, you would have to find some way to distribute the link to everyone on your team, which might include an email anyway. But, I wanted to share this option in case it is helpful!

    I hope that helps!

If I created queries and dashboard for my customer (me as a vendor), I have to deliver an account to my customer, will the queries and the dashboard disappear or can I transfer owner to another account?

Hi Kamolchanok Jittrepit, If I'm understanding correctly, you want to take queries and dashboards you've created in one Zendesk account and transfer them to another?

If that's correct, that's not possible in Explore, the queries and dashboards are associated with the account you used to create them. You'll need to recreate them in your customer's account.

    Hi
We have multiple clients for whom we created seperate dashboards in insights by creating custom metrics but you know that's a lot of work which I don't want to repeat in Explore.

How can you create a fixed filter for one organisation and the dashboard to display stats accordingly?

currently I have a generic template dashboard created for all clients. ideally would like to share this with external users but restricting them to view their organisation data only. I am pretty sure thats not possible currently so as a work around I want to create a clone of this dashboard for every client and share their relevant dashboard. but how can you filter data without creating custom metrics/queries for each organisation?

Hi Syed Raza! We do this by using the Bookmark function (Add>Bookmark). You can set the filter to what you want, and then bookmark that state to hold the filter in place.

So the finished product looks like this:

    Thank you Chris thats great

Can the external user who I will be sharing the dashboard with then change the bookmark or filter? I mean I don't want them to change it and view other clients data...that will be a security breach.

You're welcome Syed Raza. Their ability to change the filter will depend on their role and the Explore permissions set for that role. You can set roles to "view only" which would mean they couldn't change the filter.  You can find more information about that here: https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043284674-Understanding-Explore-user-roles

I have seen it mentioned a few times here but we need the ability to share the dashboards externally via email to non-zendesk users. I get that you can export, but that is the equivalent of taking a screenshot, and the widgets all exporting in a zip to separate excel files is inefficient.

Please add the ability to share dashboards via email to external users.

    Hello Jeremy Clanton,

We've seen it mentioned a few times as well, so I understand this feature request is one that sits high on a lot of people's lists. I would recommend posting your use case in our Feedback Forums so our developers can consider this in a future update.

    Best regards.
