Can the Knowledge Capture app search for articles from an external Help center website?
The Knowledge Capture app can be used to search for content that has been created in your Guide account and it is hosted against your Zendesk account. The article links that can be inserted will reflect the address of your Zendesk Help Center, or the URL of your host mapped Guide account.
Thus, the Knoweldge Capture app can only be used to search for and link articles that have been created in your Zendesk Guide Knowledge Base.
If you have a branded URL and you're unsure if your Help Center is hosted on the Zendesk's side, you can run the following command in a Terminal window: dig subdomain.domain.com . Replace subdomain.domain.com with your own branded URL.
You should be prompted with the following results - that return your Zendesk subdomain name:
