On November 1 we will be rolling out a re-architected infrastructure configuration datastore to production. The new architecture includes:
- Larger instance size for increased stability in heavier trafficked regions
- A five CloudFormation stack deployment for safe replacements and rollbacks
- Greater visibility into network metrics for easier anomaly source detection
While our rollout strategy aims to ensure we are maintaining the healthy nodes necessary to keep quorum, 1 or 2 seconds of latency 5 times over the 1 hour upgrade window may be noticed. We are targeting off-hour times for each region to minimize the impact for our customers

Customer Impact
Customer impact is expected to be minimal and only impact Zendesk Support. Zendesk Talk and Chat will not be impacted. Customers may see increased latency or slower loading for 1-2 seconds 5 times over the 1 hour upgrade window. We will continually measure customer impact during the earliest deployments to better gauge this impact before for the following migrations.
