Can users be notified when new articles are published?

    Thanks for this guide. I have subscribed to a section, but the notification always comes after a couple of minutes' delay at least. Is it possible to reduce the delay and make it almost instant notification? Thanks.

    Hi Iamps,

    I double-checked and there's no way to alter how long it takes to send out the email notification when new articles are published. If you notice a delay longer than a few minutes, let us know and we can dig into it further with you :)

    Thanks for your comments Brett! Yes I do - I'm an end user of, and I have subscriped to the same section in Chinese and English. My email notification in Chinese normally comes ~1-2mins after publication, but the English one is normally 9-10 mins later than that. Do you know any possible reason please? Thanks again.

    Hi Brett,

    My company has a lot of users follow a particular section.

    That section reports system failures and updates.

    Previously, after creating help contents, I had to compose a notification email again.

    However, I wanted to eliminate that effort by applying Zendesk's function to automatically deliver notification emails to users who followed the section.

    Currently, the section has over 15,000 registered users.

    In some cases, some end users received notifications about two hours after adding an article.

    In some cases, the end user was not notified.

    I would like to request 3 improvements for this feature.

    1. Increase the speed of delivery due to latency.

    2. When an article is added, provide a "send button" instead of automatic delivery, and let us control whether or not to deliver the notification and when to deliver it.

    3. I want you to be able to show the transmission record such as who is receiving the notification and when.

    Our operation may be special, but it was created with reference to the TIPs introduced by your company, and it costs time and money.

    If possible, we would like to continue the current operation, so please consider the above improvements.

    Is there any way to make sure the user gets notified when a specific doc is updated?

    Our users don't necessarily want to see when a new doc is added, but when it is updated.

    Hi Karissa,

    Once a user subscribed to the article, editing typos or fonts in the article will not send notifications, not unless it is a comment. For users following a specific section, article creation and comments will automatically notify them. As of the moment, the best option is to use the Subscription Help Center API to subscribe your users to sections or articles.
