This should be great! Another extremely useful feature here would be making these lists exportable. I'd love to be able to get a .csv or .xlsx file based on the list I create. This would be very useful during content audits where I want to track progress as I work through reviewing dozens of articles I've determined by making and saving one of these lists.

Yes, I also would like the ability to export the custom list in a csv/xlsx file!

    Hi there!

I was wondering if this was still in the roll-out phase, as I'm not seeing it active in our instance yet.

Janaya Cassidy We are finalizing the rollout this week so you should be able to see it soon. If you still have issues by Monday please let me know :)

This feature was just released in our instance. Hierarchy as a filter has been replaced with Article Placement; however, I noticed that if I select a category from the Article Placement list, it returns no results. To return results, I have to go to the bottom section level (i.e., if there are "subsections", I have to choose the subsection level to return results). Is that the intended behavior? This is not how it worked previously. I could select the category filter from Hierarchy without having to go to the section level to return results.

What Ryan indicated. With the latest feature, my filters on categories no longer include articles in any of the sections under the category. The loss of this capability means having to create a search for each section in every category.

It is great to see article placement as a column.

It would be great to have User Segment as a column.

It would be awesome to be able to exclude in filters. Such as looking for articles without a label or showing articles with a user segment in all but these areas, etc.

Ryan Boyer this seems to be a bug. I will create a support ticket and we will try to look into fixing it. Thank you for letting us know.

There's also a bug in editing the name of a saved list. If you place the insertion point at the start and enter characters, the insertion point jumps to the end of the entry.

Nice improvement. Would be ideal to have adjustable columns to maximize readability of longer titles such as placement paths. Also, why not make all column types sortable?

I am also experiencing the bug that Bruce Michelsen noted above.

WBN to order my saved lists in the left pane.
WBN to saved my set of the columns I want used in reports, and then override that list as I change and save a list.

Another bug: If i edit the title of a list, then customize the columns that appear, my changes are discarded in the title.

Bruce Michelsen I will create a bug ticket for editing saved list names. Thank you for reporting.

Bug: Long list titles are not shortened in the nav list.

Bruce Michelsen, thanks for that one I've created a bug for it. We'll tidy it up today together with the other issues with titles you've reported.

Ryan Boyer the problem with category not returning results should also be fixed later today.

Now that this change is implemented, I can no longer filter by hierarchy. It's nice to see the article placement I really need this feature back for bulk assignments.

Hi Amy Gracer, you are correct, we've replaced the word "Hierarchy" with "Article placement" but this change should not impact bulk assignment functionality. Can you let me know in more details what is that you are missing?

Katarzyna Karpinska Thank you, I did figure that out eventually (I couldn't find it in the list initially). Now I notice that the setting for hierarchy used to be inclusive. So If my structure was

    Category1>Section2 >Section 3> > Section 4

And I selected Sections 2 in the hierarchy, then all articles within Sections 2, 3, and 4 would be included.

Now, only the articles in section 2 are included. I have to specifically add Section 3 and Section 4 individually.

Is there a reason for this change? Is there any way to make "include child sections" an option?

    Thanks again!

Many thanks for this new feature. Great that you can save the columns in your own lists.

It would be helpful if you could save the columns in the existing publishing workflows (without having to create an extra list).

Amy Gracer, thanks for this, I agree it doesn't work as expected. I've created a ticket so it's easier to follow up on the fix.

With this new feature, is there now a limit to how many filters you can add to a saved list? Based on my testing, there seems to be a limit to 10 "category" filters from the Article Placement filter you can add. When trying to save a list with more than 10 "category" filters, I get the following error message:

Ryan Boyer you are correct, as we are introducing more categories you can add to your filter we had to introduce some limitations, otherwise, we'd risk decrease in performance. We hope that filtering combined with the possibility to add columns to your view (and soon also ordering them :) ) will continue allow you to have a powerful overview of your knowledge base.

Is there a way to display the VISIBLE TO setting? We're in the process of bulk changing a bunch of articles from: Visible To = SIGNED-IN USERS ------> Visible To  WIDGET USERS  (a segment ew created)and it would be useful to see this setting on the article list. Thanks.

This data point is not available as a flexible column but you can create a custom list based on the filter View permissions where you can chose the segments you've created and then use bulk action Change permissions from Article settings bulk action menu. Hope that helps

Thank you, Katarzyna. We're going to use the bulk action for this project. That said, is there any way this column could be added to the article list in a future program update?

Hi Stephen, We are planning a bigger update to the article management experience. It will including many new flexible columns, unfortunately not the Permission column. But I think it'd be a good addition. We'll try to make it in a few weeks following the update.
