What is the difference between the = Equals and Contains conditions in my Chat trigger for Visitor email?
Create your Chat trigger using the Contains condition for email domains and the = Equals condition for specific email addresses.
- The Chat trigger will fire for an email domain if you use the Contains condition. The Contains condition requires the string of text you enter to be included in order to fire. Use the Contains condition if you want the trigger to fire when an email domain is recognized (ex. Visitor email | Contains | @gmail.com). The "@" sign is not required but can be included.
- The Chat trigger will fire for a specific email address only if you use the = Equals condition. The = Equals condition requires an exact match in order to fire. Use the = Equals condition if you want the trigger to fire on an exact match to an individual's email address (ex. Visitor email | Equals | firstname.lastname@example.org).
You can add more than one email domain or address to your trigger. Create multiple separate triggers for each email domain or address, or add multiple email conditions and change the Check conditions on the trigger to Check any of the following conditions.
