Can I increase the timeout delay of my HTTP target?
No, the timeout delay cannot be changed. The default delay is set to 10 seconds. Because target calls happen in a synchronous manner with triggers, anything longer has a negative impact and could lead to issues in updating tickets.
If more time is needed by an HTTP target, have your HTTP target's API use a job based asynchronous approach rather than a synchronous approach. For more information about avoiding timeouts, see the article: Avoiding timeout errors.
To confirm that your target fails due to a timeout, check the Target Failures tab in your Support dashboard. Target failures due to a timeout will show Net::ReadTimeout.
