When you purchase and use a phone number in Zendesk Talk or Zendesk Text, many countries have local regulations that require you to submit documentation to verify your business.
Recently, we were notified that all Belgian phone number types registered with Zendesk Talk now require updated regulatory information, regardless of prior compliance status. Per Belgian telecommunication authorities, Zendesk is required to collect this information from our customers and submit it on your behalf.
Belgian phone numbers without updated documentation by September 7, 2020 (9:00 a.m. GMT) will be disconnected and reclaimed.
What you need to do
If you're an affected customer, we've emailed you. Respond to the email with the documentation below no later than September 7, 2020, to avoid putting your number(s) at risk of disconnection.
- Excerpt from the Belgian commercial register (extrait BCE) showing the business name, business registration number, and the physical business address (P.O. Boxes are not accepted).
- The business's Belgian VAT number.
If you have numbers in countries other than Belgium, there are different compliance requirements that must also be met by the end of the year. We'll share additional details as we learn more. If you want to get started now, see this page detailing the full requirements for all phone number types that Talk offers.
We recognize that regulatory compliance can be challenging, so we appreciate your cooperation in providing the necessary documentation in a timely manner!
