When I try to build an Explore query I receive the error message Narrow down your query. Edit the metrics and attributes, or add a filter and try again.
This error can result from a custom metric creating too many results or your query having too much data.
To resolve this problem
- Adjust an existing date filter or add a new date filter to narrow the scope, such as Ticket created - Date. Make the defined date range smaller to reduce the data computation required. Follow the steps in the article: Working with query filters.
- If your query uses a custom calculated metric or attribute, check if the formulas can be improved. For example, use the IF THEN ELSE function to specify exactly when the metric or attribute should be executed.
- If the query uses a large number of attributes or metrics exclude some of them.
