How many characters can be added to a single comment?
Yes. The character limit on ticket comments using the standard agent interface is 65,535. For example, if you submit a plain text comment with 100,000 characters, it will always be truncated to the first 65,535.
In accounts with Agent Workspace enabled, comments are saved in HTML format. All HTML tags and characters are included in the 65,535 limit. Truncating is not supported in Agent Workspace. This can produce unpredictable instances when the comment submission fails due to the character size limit being exceeded.
If markdown or rich text formatting is enabled and in use, comments may be truncated even more. Extra characters are needed to encode any kind of formatting used in markdown and rich text formatting. Even if these characters are hidden, they still are counted towards the character limit.
Can you set a character count requirement?
Hi Celentano, Tatiana, I'm afraid there is no built in feature for this at the moment.
We are trying to add comments to a side conversation and it does not return all the ticket comments. Is this due to the character limit (there are a lot of comments on this ticket)? Please advise.
Yes, the character limits also apply for side conversations. Please kindly check if the characters number presented in the article are applicable, otherwise, please reach out to our support team via the supported channels for a closer investigation: https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408843597850
I hope this helps!
I'm using this add-on to export Zendesk tickets to Google Sheets - https://support.google.com/docs/answer/9625921?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop
The issue I'm facing is there are a few tickets that have the description character limit more than 50K, which is more than what google sheet allows. So I get an error and then the export stops. Is there anyway to solve this?
What is the limit of Title Characters?
I believe the character limit for the ticket subject (if that's what you're referring to) is approximately 150.
I hope this helps!
I'm trying to use Liquid Markup, and even though my message has less than 20k characters, it still says it goes over the 65k limit.
Is there a way to have Liquid Markup without Rich Text to avoid this?
Can a review on this HTML code generation from Zendesk be reviewed at some point? Because having it 3x+ the actual word count with just HTML formatting for nothing more than text and paragraphs looks a bit excessive
