From 16:29-16:40 UTC, Guide customers on Pod 17 experienced increased latency and bad gateway errors. The issue has since been resolved and Guide functionality has been restored.
Root Cause Analysis
This incident was caused by an unexpected spike in usage which resulted in insufficient capacity for Pod 17 Guide traffic.
To fix this issue, we increased resource allocation.
Zendesk teams will automate handling of specific types of Guide traffic to prevent this issue from recurring.
