Syncing leads and contacts
Only sync leads and contacts to Sell that have reached or exceeded the HubSpot Engagement score that is set as your company threshold. The threshold number varies by company and depends on what you deem is an adequate level of engagement to move forward into a sale. Keep in mind that some engagement actions are more telling of a lead’s willingness to move forward, so allocate points accordingly.
To start synchronizing leads and contact when the integration is enabled, you can bulk select leads and contacts, then choose the Add to HubSpot option. You can only send leads or contacts with email addresses to HubSpot because an email is a required field in HubSpot. You cannot add company contacts to HubSpot. If you select more than one lead or contact with the same email address to sync with HubSpot, then only one record is created.
To avoid syncing unqualified leads, the HubSpot integration with Sell is limited to just one list. The best practice is to streamline your HubSpot contacts into one HubSpot list (see HubSpot Academy).
Deleting leads and contacts
If you delete a lead or contact in Sell that is being synchronized with HubSpot, the lead or contact is removed from Sell and will not sync again. Re-adding it to your HubSpot list will not trigger it to sync to Sell.
If you synchronize a HubSpot list of contacts to Sell, then delete the contacts in HubSpot, all of those contacts will still remain in Sell. When a record is synced into Sell from HubSpot, you can only remove it from Sell.
When a contact or lead is synced between HubSpot and Sell, either by adding it to a synced list in HubSpot, or by being synced into HubSpot from Sell, the information of that record will continue to sync regardless of which list it belongs to.
Working with custom fields
You can choose which HubSpot custom fields to map to Sell custom field values during the integration process. When you create a custom field for that information in Sell, Sell automatically chooses the field type for you. For example, if you want to sync a HubSpot Numbers custom field, the custom field you create in Sell will automatically be a Numbers-type field.
Merging fields
To avoid creating duplicate fields, Sell intelligently merges contacts that are present in both HubSpot and Sell. Empty values in either system are always overwritten if a value is present in the opposite system. For example, if John Smith has a custom phone number in Sell, but no custom phone number in HubSpot, that information will be integrated into HubSpot in the next sync.
Fields that are already filled in Sell are not overwritten by updates that are made to those fields in HubSpot.
