Important: This integration is only available for customers using the Legacy versions of Zendesk Chat. For help determining which version you have, see Determining your Zendesk Chat account version.
If you use Joomla's content management system, follow one of the sets of steps below to add the Zendesk Chat widget to your site.
To add the Chat widget to Joomla via Admin page
- Log into your Joomla Administration Panel.
- Go to Extensions > Template Manager.
- Click Templates, then select the template you're using for your website.
- Under Template Master Files, select index.php.
For Joomla 2.5, select Edit main page template.
For Joomla 1.5, select Edit HTML. - Insert your live chat embed code before the </body> tag.

- Click Save & Close.
Note: The Zendesk Chat for Joomla via plugin integration is only supported for standalone chat accounts.
To add the Zopim widget to Joomla via plugin
- Download the plugin at http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extension/communication/live-support-hosted/yoonique-net-zopim.
- Log into Joomla.
- Access the Extension Manager page.
- On the Extension Manager page, select Choose File.
- Extract/unzip the file you downloaded in step 1.
- Select the file that corresponds to your current Joomla theme and click Open.
- Click Upload & Install.
- From the Joomla admin page, access the Plugin Manager page.
- Enter your Zendesk Chat account details and click Save.
- Click the X in the Enabled column next to the plugin to enable it.
