What is changing?
Zendesk will be updating the public-facing IP address of some services starting May 2, 2022.
Why is Zendesk making this change?
We’re making this change to ensure continued reliability and stability by avoiding reliance on a third party for hosting. This does not affect the IP address of your zendesk.com domain.
What do I need to do?
Most customers using outbound firewall setups will not notice this change. Customers who use an outbound firewall to allow some, and not all, of Zendesk’s IPs or those not able to follow our configuration instructions need to take action to ensure the following range is in their list:
216.198.0.0/18
Not taking action could result in your firewall blocking access to Zendesk.
This is Zendesk’s IP range, already found in our list of IPs. If you’re unsure about your firewall setup, contact your IT representative to share our configuration instructions.

hello, what products are affected by these changes, I have several customers that could be affected by this.
The IP address changes affect domains used in realtime services like Messaging (smooch.io) and agent notifications (pubsub-shardA-B-C.zendesk.com). These domains are not typically seen in the browser address bar, and the IP addresses we will be using are already a part of those described here. As mentioned in the article the main zendesk.com domain used for the Support agent interface or API integrations is not changing.
