Starting today, admins can now filter the audit log by the Item column, which includes changes made to specific settings, users, and business rules.
This announcement includes the following topics:
What is changing?
The audit log now has a new filtering capability that allows admins to filter by the specific item that has changed. In the Filter side drawer, you’ll see a new Item section with two drop-down lists: Type and Names.
In the Type field, select or search the generic item type you want to filter by, such as triggers. Then, in the Names field, select or search for the specific items you want to filter by, such as the individual trigger names.
Why is Zendesk making this change?
You’ve told us that often there’s only part of the puzzle available when admins visit the audit log. For example, admins might know when something changed (but not what) or who changed something (but not when).
Over time, we’ve added an increased volume of events to the audit log. This new level of filtering by item makes it easier to find what you’re looking for without having to page through or export results.
What do I need to do?
You don’t need to take any action. However, if you’re interested in learning more, see Filtering the audit log.

Yay! Yay! Yay! This will save me so much time because 90% I am looking at who changed something. To date, I have had to email the CSV, open in Excel and do a data filter. Thank you, Zendesk!
Would you please add the ability to include a person record? Often, I need to see who updated a person (e.g., an agent's role or who incorrectly suspended someone without downgrading the user type.)
It's not terribly helpful to give us more filtering for the audit log, when Zendesk knows it records the *wrong actor names*. It would be very helpful if you focused on making the product functional and accurate, before adding more filters. It should horrify anyone in security that Zendesk thinks it's acceptable to let this audit log reflect the wrong actor making changes. In case you think I'm being hyperbolic or misleading, here's a screenshot where I was told that Zendesk is aware of this major security issue and has no official plans to fix it.

How to filter based on a "ITEM"
For example I want find out which agent mis-linked the user to a wrong organization, so I want display "Item" -> Username and get a list of changes for this user (Org add, removed ...)
Thanks.
Tobias
Jamie, are you saying that you need to filter by the User profile that was changed? That's something we have in progress right now and you'll be able to use the Item dropdown to find the Team member or Customer, and then you can filter that by the name of the User. Let me know if this is what you meant.
CJ, I propose we take this convo back to the original thread for follow up. I'll make a comment in there.
Tobias, I think your question is the same as Jamie's so you can review that answer above. Correct me if I'm wrong or misunderstood something.
