We are excited to announce that it is now possible to publish changes to content blocks directly to your help center without impacting article status.
What’s changing, and why?
Content blocks provide an excellent opportunity to create and manage small pieces of content across your whole knowledge base. Previously when you edited a content block, you had to republish all articles that contained the content block to see the changes in your help center. We now simplified this behavior by enabling you to publish content blocks directly to your help center without republishing the articles that contain them.
How will this affect me?
After launching this feature you’ll notice that the Save button in the content block editor has been replaced with an Update button. You can click Update to update this content block everywhere it’s used, including published articles, without changing the article status in Guide Admin. All unpublished articles will remain unpublished. You may also notice that in the article editor you can now see information about who updated the content block and when.
By default, all agents and admins have permission to update content blocks. However, it’s possible to restrict updating content blocks only to Admins. To learn more, see Allowing agents to update content blocks.
What do I need to do?
You don’t need to take any action. However, if you’re interested in learning more about managing content blocks see Creating and inserting reusable information with content blocks.
