Announced on | EOL of legacy integration |
April 3, 2023 | September 18, 2023 |
With the release of Slack notifications through triggers last year, we will be deprecating all legacy Slack notifications to triggers on September 18, 2023.
We had previously communicated that the legacy notifications would be deprecated on March 31. However, we are changing this date to September 18, 2023.
This announcement includes the following topics:
What is changing?
In November 2022, we released new Slack notifications that are now set up using Zendesk triggers, which allow broader conditionality and the ability to customize the content of a notification message to Slack. With the release of the new notifications, we will be providing customers with a path to migrate all legacy notifications to triggers and retiring the old feature.
Previously, we communicated that we would deprecate the existing Slack channel notifications on March 31, 2023. We are giving customers additional time to migrate and are changing the change effective date to September 18, 2023.
Why is Zendesk making this change?
The new Slack notifications in triggers allow for more configuration, customization, and control of the notifications that are sent from Zendesk to Slack. With the release of this feature, we will be replacing and deprecating the legacy notifications.
The reason for changing the migration date is to provide customers with additional time to migrate manually.
What do I need to do?
If you’re using the existing Slack channel notifications, you’ll need to migrate these to triggers by September 18, 2023. After that date, these notifications will cease to notify Slack channels.
If you have existing Slack channel notifications configured, you can follow these steps in Admin Center to convert them to triggers automatically.
