Announced on | Rollout starts | Rollout ends |

We're excited to announce that we've expanded the semantic search rollout to more Guide customers. With this release, semantic search can now search articles and community posts in all English language help centers that do not have external content.
Semantic search allows help center visitors to search for content without knowing the exact terms to use in their search, and still find what they're looking for at the top of the search results list.
This announcement answers the following questions:
- What languages does semantic search support?
- How do I know if my help center is enabled for semantic search?
- What do I need to do?
What languages does semantic search support?
Semantic search is enabled for help centers that have an English variant as the locale, and that do not use federated search.
We’re currently working on bringing semantic search to support more languages. We will roll out semantic search to more languages once our testing shows consistent improvements in click-through rates (CTR) and mean reciprocal rank (MRR). We conduct testing to ensure that all accounts benefit from an upgrade to semantic search before we roll it out. You can learn more about the languages we’re currently planning to support here.
How do I know if my help center is enabled for semantic search?
To check whether your help center is enabled for semantic search, see How to check if your help center is enabled for semantic search.
More work is needed to support external content and to support all possible help center locales. Updates will follow as we continue the roll out. You can learn more about the roll out plan here.
What do I need to do?
This implementation is automatic and requires no additional work.
To help us improve the help center search experience, we invite you to use this form to submit examples of search results that don’t surface the most relevant articles. You can use this form both if you’ve got semantic search enabled or if you’re awaiting support for external content or non-English locales. This feedback will guide our product team, and will also be used to evaluate the search performance.
