    Ryan Clarke There isn't an automated way to migrate legacy custom objects to the new custom object experience. However, we've published a tutorial on how to do it manually. See Migrating legacy custom objects to the new custom objects experience.

    This is great news! I am very happy to have this functionality available "out of the box" (vs custom dev or marketplace solutions) for such an important capability. Question -- is, or will, this same capability be made available for Zendesk Sell? We use custom objects for both Sell and Support, so I'd expect this feature to be available across both sides of the house. Thanks!

    How do we report on custom objects, or export them?

    Explore reporting allows for ticket-based reports, but we have custom objects that may be related to a User and Organization, but not a ticket. How can we export these records?

    There is no announcement yet that this will be available for Sell as well but please keep a lookout on our announcement page.

    For Zendesk Suite Growth plan and above or standalone Zendesk Support Professional plan, you can request to have the export feature enable and it has the option to Export XML format data for the following:

    • Accounts - all the settings for your account
    • Groups - detailed information about your groups
    • Organizations - detailed information about your organizations
    • Tickets - all the details (including comments) for all your tickets
    • Users - a list of all your users (end users, agents, and admins)

    Alternatively, you can leverage the List Users endpoint to export all the users in your account. See the following Zendesk developer docs:

    Hi Noly Maron Unson, I had asked about the ability to export custom objects. You listed several native Zendesk objects that can be exported (Accounts, Groups, Organizations, Tickets, Users).

    Hi Reed,

    Sorry for the miss on my part here. There is no native way to export custom objects yet but you can leverage the List Custom Objects API to get all non-deleted custom objects in JSON format.

    For a ZCLI app, can Custom Objects be set up via requirements.json by the app installer?  

    The current documentation only covers Legacy Custom Objects.

    New Custom Objects (v2) does not have support for this yet. It's a feature gap we're aware of. Don't worry, we already have this in our road map but we don't have a date when this will be launched. I suggest following our Zendesk Announcement, so you can get real-time updates as we launch new updates, features, and products. Thanks!
