We are excited to introduce the next milestone in the article editor enhancements project - the movement of article translation management to the new context panel. Moving translation management to the right of the article editor provides you with better visibility of your translations and their publishing and review states.
This announcement includes the following topics:
What’s changing, and why?
Previously, you could manage translations by using a dropdown menu above the article title in the article editor. This process could be cumbersome if you needed to track where translations were in your publishing workflow. With the launch of the new translation view in the article context panel, we've refined how you interact with translations, emphasizing the importance of providing content in the languages your customers speak.
This enhanced view lets you easily see the range of existing translations so you can ensure that your help center caters to a multilingual audience.
How will this affect me?
The updated translation view in the article context panel lets you see all available translations at a glance and create new ones. Instead of using a dropdown field or switching between articles, you can now do everything from one place. You can choose which translation to work on, set the default translation, check the revisions, or flag a translation that needs to be updated.
This update saves you time when managing translations and makes the process of working with multiple translations more straightforward.
What do I need to do?
You don’t need to take any action. If you have a multilingual help center you’ll see the new panel in your article editor immediately. For more information, see Managing help center translations for articles. If you would like to learn more about setting up a multilingual help center, see Configuring your help center to support multiple languages.
