About your automatic setup

Automated setup creates these features in your trial account:

  • An AI agent
  • Custom ticket views
  • Custom ticket fields

The AI agent

AI agents are AI-powered bots that automate and resolve your customers’ issues across service channels. AI agents enable you to move toward greater automation and efficiency.

The AI agent created during your trial setup references information from your website to automatically reply to customer requests. You can try out the agent by asking it questions similar to the types of questions your customers might ask.

Custom ticket views

Views are a way to organize your tickets by grouping them into lists based on certain criteria. For example, you can create a view for unsolved tickets that are assigned to you, a view for new tickets that need to be triaged, or a view for pending tickets that are awaiting response. Views help you determine what tickets need attention from you or your team and plan accordingly.

In addition to the standard views included in your Zendesk trial, automatic setup creates custom views for you based on information from your website. For example, it might create a view for tickets related to product refunds, insurance questions, and so on.

You can make changes to these views to further customize your account. See Managing your views.

Custom ticket fields

Typically, when customers submit support requests, they provide the subject and description of their question or support issue in standard ticket fields. They may also be prompted to provide additional data such as a product type or model number using custom ticket fields.

In addition to the standard ticket fields included in your Zendesk trial, automatic setup creates custom ticket fields for you based on information from your website. You can use these custom ticket fields to gather more information about your customer’s support issues.

You can make changes to these ticket fields to further customize your account. See Editing and managing your ticket fields.

Exploring your trial

Now that you’re familiar with the features added to your trial, you’re ready to explore.

  1. Click Explore your trial at the bottom of the automatic setup page.

The Agent Home page in your trial account appears.

Agent Home shows agents their work, including tickets and ticket updates for email and messaging conversations. You'll see tickets assigned to you on Agent Home.

Agent Home in your trial shows a sample ticket that was created as part of automatic setup.

  2. Click the ticket to open it.

Looking at the ticket you can see:

    • Sample content similar to what you might receive from a customer.
    • An automatic response sent to the customer by the AI agent.
    • Custom ticket fields you can use to provide relevant information.
    • A suggestion from the AI agent that you can use to reply to the customer's question.

In addition to the sample ticket, you’ll see a notification to try out the AI agent.

  3. Click Ask a question.

A sample web page opens. Use this sample web page to see how customers can submit requests and interact with your AI agent.

  4. Use this page to test the AI agent and see how it’s working.

Additional setup tasks

To follow your automatic setup, there are some additional tasks you can do for your account.

  • To start an additional task, click Start next to the task you want to complete.

See the topics in this section for a brief description of each setup task. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete each task

Invite team members

This task shows you how you can invite other members of your team to the trial. Team members can include admins to manage your account and agents to work with tickets. You can add up to four additional team members to a trial.

Customize the AI agent with a name and tone of voice

You can customize your AI agent by giving the AI agent a name and picking a conversation style. These elements set the tone for how you want to connect with customers. For more information, see Configuring an AI agent persona.

Test the AI agent

You can test the AI agent by sending a question by email or typing into a chat widget. You can try several variations of the question to see how it works. For more information, see Testing an AI agent.

Expand your knowledge base

Automatic setup creates customized knowledge articles for your help center based on information from your website. These generated articles provide source material for both your AI agent’s answers and your self-service help center. You can edit and publish these articles or add more articles to improve expertise and accuracy.

Connect email

The final setup task is to connect your support email to start receiving support requests from your customers. There are multiple ways to connect your support email, depending on your preferences and your email provider.

You can:

  • Connect with Gmail.
  • Connect with Microsoft Exchange.
  • Connect with email forwarding.
  • Connect with a Zendesk email account.

Launch the AI agent

Congratulations! After you complete the additional setup tasks, you’re ready to launch the AI agent and start replying to customer requests. To purchase your Zendesk Suite trial, see Buying Zendesk Suite.
