    +1 for this, it would be great to have more configurable control over search filters.

     

    @John Yu, there are a couple of ways to work around this. You can use {{search scoped=true}} for the category, but it seems to not work on the section according to https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/205749628-Improving-the-scope-restrictions-for-the-search-bar

    Another option is to develop your own search, and use javascript to add URL parameters to the search query (e.g. &section=sectionId).

    Thanks Stephen, appreciate the suggestions. Building custom javascript is a doable option but might be challenging for some less tech-savvy users.

    @Zendesk, it would be nice to have this functionality built-in as it seems trivial considering the sections are already defined.

    Hi John and Stephen - 

    You can filter by Category, which may not entirely solve your problem but should help. After searching, click "By Type" then select "Knowledge Base" then click on the category. This will then display only the results that match your query from within that Category.

    This looks like an interim solution for me, however I do not see the options on my Search results page.
    Were can I enable this?

    Hi all - 

    My mistake, I thought this was available to all users, but it turns out that this was a function that was being tested but has not yet been approved for general availability. We will be sure to let you know if and when it becomes available, but at the moment there's no ETA nor guarantee.

    Hi! Was there any progress made on this? Being able to filter articles from the search bar would be a great addition to a help center, as not to confuse end-users. The 'scoped' attribute doesn't work with the 'instant' attribute, so that isn't really helpful.
